Soft saffron, which is also known as short-handled saffron or chopped beards, actually consists of the red and terminal parts of the stigma of the saffron flower, which is harvested without the white stem (cream). Most of the production of this type of saffron is done in South Khorasan and Razavi regions, and due to the absence of white and bitter parts, it has a wonderful quality of coloring and aroma. Unlike Sargol saffron, this type is usually more compact and releases faster in hot water or food. It is widely used for domestic purposes such as preparing tea, brewing rice, and also in the food industry due to its high coloring efficiency. Due to its special appearance, it does not need to be ground and its fragrance has a long shelf life.
